The horse has evolved into an enduring muse for Lucinda. The spirit of the horse is wild untamed freedom and horses often appeared as messengers, symbols of war or spiritual, shamanic guides. Horses are able to transmit the highest expression of grace, nobility and strength. Being around horses is healing because they so generously impart to us these gifts that balance the human psyche. Even looking at horses is healing, calming and uplifting.

Lucinda expresses this martial strength and endurance of the horse, emphasizing a thick neck and strong body. Her modelling is rough and energetic reflecting the more primordial, atavistic and raw energy of the horse. Her approach also alludes to the ancient and archetypal connection between horse and man, our deep connection to the earth and the elements, for bronze is a manifestation of this magical combination of earth, elements and fire.
